Rainbirds

i'm in a good mood today, not a writing mood but a good one. :) life is going alright, not exactly the way i want it to, but in some aspects of it, i'm top dog. the soda ban i had going has been lifted, but i still don't drink as much as it used to. if there is anything you should get from me today, it is the Arthur Verocai record, i've been listening to it for days now, even sleeping with it on. it's very well done and quite beautiful, one of brazil's best that is for sure. :) willie dixon & memphis slim are great as well. the brainblasters, well they're quite a good psychobilly band, i've only seen one other blog with it up & i think the link is dead, this needs to be spread a bit more, because it's an essential for any psychobilly collection. that's it for me. i've used a lot of smiley faces and could give a shit less if you don't like them. ;P :) :D :B :3 music!
S/T - Arthur Verocai
Willie's Blues - Willie Dixon & Memphis Slim

Have Love Will Travel

how true, eh? i've realized that in all of my efforts to do things differently, i can never really do what i want. i have the means & i am allowed but nothing ever comes out the way i'd like it to. perhaps i'm stressing too much on tiny imperfections, maybe i'm not sure of what i want yet, eh i'm probably just listening to my inner critic just a bit too much. i'm trying to think of something interesting to write about and honestly, i'm coming up dry. i really like Godzilla films, mostly the ones from the 60's & 70's. i remember being a kid and watching hours & hours of Godzilla, i even cried during the Return of Godzilla. i think that's why i love the movies so much, it reminds me of childhood, times where a man in a rubber suit was an actual tyrannical beast that lived on an island somewhere in Japan. i hated Gabara's roar, still do. i think i'll watch a few today, who knows. enough of that. i've decided to stop drinking soda for a week, to see how i feel. it's the first day and i'm jonesin' for a diet dr.pepper, bad. what a terrible feeling and thought, to think, i feel like i need soda, what a shame. product of my generation i suppose. blah. my brain feels like pancake batter. here's your music.

Can You Spare A Dime? (Mega)

friday. the day a lot of people look forward to, i used to look forward to it when i was in school, now it's just another day, i'm trying to remember when the last time i actually gave a shit about friday was and i can't. how annoying. i didn't want to go through with this 'megapost' business, but it's friday, i ain't got no job and so on & so forth. i wish i could eat my head's weight in gummi bears, i'd wash it all down with a gallon of water and await the explosion in my stomach, i'd only do this to see if the few bears i'd swallowed whole survived the journey, ah, gummi bears drenched in blood & stomach fluid. :) i read somewhere the coke killed Billy Mays, godamn that man knew how to party.
here's your music.

Enter The Bumblebee

happy thursday. how are you all? pretty funny picture eh? hah. reminded me that i didn't go to my prom, a lot of people make it a big deal, i just saw it as a waste of money. honestly why do i have to pay to create memories? i make them fine on my own for free. i'm sure this idea has been tossed around so many times before me, but this is my input. i remember hearing girls gab on & on about how much they spent on the dress they would only be wearing once, if i was a girl i'd buy a dress that i could wear all the time and just made sure it looked nice that night, maybe by adding a bow or some sequins. the dudes would just talk about getting laid & the after-parties. i hated that crowd, still do. i wonder what those kids are doing now, i wonder if they still think about their prom, do they even hold that memory dear to their heart? i sure hope so.

Tell Me Your Troubles

it's wednesday, wonderful. i want to write more but i seriously have nothing interesting to say. i can try to talk about the music but i'll just ramble. eh, who cares. today i continue the pseudo-series i've had going, consisting of the White Stripes, Beirut & Black Sabbath, they've been blasting through my speakers for the past week, especially the White Stripes. i think their first album is my favorite so far because it's so damned raw, i love it, reminds me of Screaming Lord Sutch. Beirut remind me of mexico, i think it's the horns. Black Sabbath is well, fucking Black Sabbath. if i could make heavy music like that i would in a heartbeat, but i'm doomed to make whatever noise it is that i make, i'm okay with that though. :) well here's your music..
White Blood Cells - the White Stripes (garage blues)
March of the Zapotec/March of Holland EP - Beirut (flavored)
Master of Reality - Black Sabbath (heavy)
