A Moment of Silence..

rest in peace heath,
keep it real in heaven.
:]
now, i have two albums for you today, they are two of my favorites,
here they are.

the Adventures of the Krewmen - the Krewmen
1.Hell Train

2.Bar Room Fantasy
3.Bus Stop
4.Don't Give A Toss
5.Guy Fawkes
6.Hide Away
7.The Adventures of the Krewmen
8.The Bug of Planet Zee
9.Wild Dogs of Zoberon

the band's story goes like this: "Krewmen" formed originally in 1982 by Tony Mc Millan. At that time, the pure sound of the band Rock-a-Billy. From 1982-84 played "Krewmen" lots of gigs around the UK, mostly in small pubs and clubs. Beginning of the year 1985, the band was selected, Elvis Presley's former band in "Elvis, the musical" to play, which is 9 months by USA / Canada, and toured the UK. After returning from Canada had "Krewmen" various offers from labels from the UK, France, Holland, Sweden and the USA. They were about to move to contractually bind itself to "Lost Moment Records", as two members of the band decided to leave the band in order to do other things like car washing and in local pubs.
(sorry for missing 'Night of The Living Dead', if you want it, ask.)

AND

Fistful of Spells - Spellbound

1.A Fistful of Spells
2.P.S.Y.C.H.O
3.Death Train

9.Problem Child
10.She's Foxy & Fine
11.Loan Shark Blues
12.A Night In Hellfire Woods
13.Ugly Women

little info on spellbound (from their website bio): When you look at the Psychobilly movement of the 1980’s, Ireland is not a country that springs to mind as having played much of a part. However, in 1986 the bars and clubs of Dublin were quite literally crawling with demented rockabillies and quiffed-up mutants. There were plenty of live bands for them to follow too (for those, at least, who weren’t making the weekly trek to psychobilly ‘Mecca’ The KLUBFOOT at London’s Hammersmith Clarendon), The Klingonz (who quickly moved to London to save on bus fares!), Sharkbait (who disbanded at their peak when lead singer Dave Finnegan landed a leading role in Alan Parker’s motion picture ‘The Commitments’),there were Punky and ‘Cramp-ish’ bands like The Gorehounds, Kill-Devil Hill and the Boneshakers, while The Kroozers, Those Handsome Devils and The Crazy Wolves stayed closer to a ‘traditional’ 1950’s sound. Spellbound was formed in 1986 by brothers Frankie and Adrian Hayes, who came from Bray, Co Wicklow, 15 miles south of Dublin City. Unlike other Irish bands of their time, Spellbound decided to head directly to mainland Europe, where their 1988 debut album ‘Mystical Madness’ was very well received and notched up many thousands in sales (amazingly, that album was never released in their home country). The boys blazed a brief trail across the rockabilly and psychobilly festivals of Germany and Scandanavia before, it seemed, vanishing back into the ‘Hellfire’ woods of County Wicklow.

and
the Wildebeests - Go Wilde In The Countrye '97 (90's garage)

Lardy Lairds of Oikdom(which i think is the band's website) has this to say about the Wildebeests: ''Ah, The bloody Wildebeests, true purveyors of the 'Dimbo beat' and all round Din meisters. These three lairds have been polluting the worlds ears for what seems like an eternity now what with each members previous bands and with the sheer volume of recordings, records and gigs that they've seen fit to unleash upon an unsuspecting public. The band consists of these three gits John Gibbs (a founding member of the Kaisers, Holly Golighty), Lenny Helsing (Thanes, Green Telescope) and last but not least Russ Wilkins (Pop Rivets, Milkshakes and Delmonas) who all cut their teeth playing raw beat music and generally causing a rumpus aurally, when their paths crossed they found that they had the same old cranky, rusty equipment plus some new(ish) shiny tunes that had accumulated along the way, the Wildebeests were born! fueled by enthusiasm, dunce caps and other ingredients, like finding out that they all shared the same attitudes and ideas when it came to what 'making a right old honest bloody racket'' was all about...and thusly the Wildebeests did verily go forth and bang , scrape, thump and twang. Utilising the sheer sonic force of their 50 Watt P.A, 50 Watt Treble 'n' Bass and the blistering power of the 15 Watt guitar 'knee trembler' the 'Beests have stumbled through the shady underbellies of the popular music scene building a large following of like-minded 'dimbos' and 'dimbettes' both in Britain and the rest of Europe...could the world be their oyster? nope, but this doesn't deter them from jabbing a knife in it's side and trying to prise it open...''
sounds good to me. :D so, i suggessst you get it.

It's Been Fun..

we've made it to 100 posts. i know i should feel pretty accomplished(?), but i feel real sick. i've tried to give out my music to people and no one seems to dig it. maybe i'm giving it out to the wrong crowd? i'm thinking of only posting one genre, one that isn't as represented as i'd like it to be on the blogosphere. that genre is Psychobilly. if i lose more hits, oh well, it won't be a big deal to me seeing as how i don't get any with my attempt at mixtapes, at least this way it'll be good enough for me to know that i'm helping out a scene that i'm apart of.
now don't get me wrong, Sanscosm will continue to post his regular brand of love, but i will only put up albums & mixtapes in the vein of psychobilly, garage & ska.

later tonight i'll put up my first post with this new change.

leave comments if you want.

hey there. back with another post. :] a friendly comment made me reinstate my mixtapes. ha. thanks go out to 'pookie'. i had a great idea at school the other day for my new series of mixtapes, i'm going to start something i call 'Goji Shuffle'. the premise is this, at school, i put my ipod on shuffle, and make a playlist out of the 20 random songs. now have in mind, bands may repeat, after the countless times i tried to keep that from happening, no luck. so tonight is the first time i try this, i will still continue accompanying the mixtapes with albums, so don't fret! haha. well, i hope this turns out well. here we go.

You Can Hear The Fuckin' Fleas Crawlin' On My Nuts.

ah sublime..my love for them started out when i was in 6th grade, i had only heard what was on the radio and i liked it. in the summer of the 7th to 8th grade transition a cousin of mine gave me 40 oz To Freedom, making me a full fledged fan. i kept that album with me for a loooong time, until it was destroyed and lost in a truck. it wasn't until '06 that i was reunited with this album, having a girlfriend that was a huge fan of the band, i bought her the CD and fell in loooove again. and now i present to you a mix of my favorite sublime songs. a lot of remixes & alternate takes, i like those a lot more. :D i've also included an album by the group Trophy Scars, i remember reading somewhere that they were like a hardcore band with Conor Oberst as the lead singer, do you agree?
