this album is considered Incubus' peak, i disagree. while it is good, great in fact, it is in no way their peak. Make Yourself is certainly a big change from previous albums Fungus Amongus & S.C.I.E.N.C.E musically. Lyrically, it is somewhat similar, maybe not as similar to Fungus, but the feeling is there. I'd have to say all tracks of this album are good, tracks of intrest would have to be, 'Consequence', 'Make Yourself', 'The Warmth', 'Clean', 'Nowhere Fast' & the epic 'Battlestar Scralatchitica'. i give this album 9 out of 10 stars. link in comments.
apologies. i could not upload the acoustic disc. i'll up it later. probably when i'm through with the rest of the discography.

what is considered a mainstream turn from their 'funk metal' beginnings, is in fact another taste of the tripped out conscious of Brandon Boyd & his crew. it starts out with this diggerido sounding thing, maybe guitar fuzz? i don't know. but it ends with a phone call. lyrically this album has it, it really gets you going, 'you look at me like i'm a vitamin!!', cuh-mahhhnn, that's cool. tracks of interest are, well, the entire album, especially, 'Deep Inside', 'Magic Medicine', 'Vitamin' and 'Calgone'. give a listen to the hidden track, it'll blow your miiiinnnddd. i give this 9 stars out of 10. link in comments.
Quick Update!

it starts with that funky riff, then Brandon's smooth voice pulls you into to this 'funk metal' record to end all 'funk metal' albums. the first track with suck you in, if you choose to stay, you'll feel like Dr.Funkenstein himself is tinkering around in that cranium of yours. while this may not be my favorite album, i always find time to listen to it. this album didn't introduce me to Incubus, it wasn't until later on, by the time Morning View came out, did i hear this album. tracks that you should definitely listen to are 'You Will Be A Hot Dancer', 'Speak Free', 'Hilikus', 'Trouble In Room 421', 'Take Me To Your Leader' and 'Medium'. if you're willing to dive into Incubus' drug filled album, feel free to grab it. link in comments.

No Parking on the Dancefloor....
Banarama is supposed to be dope.
My supervisor when I worked at Sav-On told me they are the shit.
But he was 38, had a mullet, lived with his mom, and would wear a styx undershirt everyday.
Take it from him.
They Rock.
Bananarama - Greatest Hits
I Really like Radiohead.
So I hope Thorm Yorke's solo album is good.
I should actually listen to the shit I post up here shouldn't I?

Yeah Yeah Yeahs fucking rock.
Simple.
When I get some friends crammed into my car, I blast "Gold Lion" and We Scream our Lungs out.
Its just fun to sing to.
"Now tell me whatch'ya saw/tell me whatch'ya saw..."
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones
Linkin Park burned out my Cd player when I was in 8th grade.
now they just sound like burn outs.
"What I've Done"?
I think they meant "WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!?"
Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight
Pearl Jam.
Eh.
I really dig "Jeremy", though.
And I'm a sucker for anything acoustic.
Hence...
Pearl Jam - MTV Unplugged
Here is KRS-One's response to Nas.
But his case is Weak, Case and Point.

Billie Holiday is one of the Best Singers to ever live.

Morning!
everything is looking a lot better. things are looking up, posts will be more frequent now, from me anyhow, i'll try and post as fast as i can, my internet is a little slow nowadays, i've got a lot of music on my computer and i need a bigger disk. :/ BUT, i've still got links! four. not much, but i'm running late so i'll make it quick.
Demented are Go! - Go Go Demented
a live show from sometime in the 80's, can't say when, but it's a good one from these psychobilly kings.
Demented are Go! - Daddys Making Monsters
an EP from Demented Are Go, a good one, not their best, but it works.
MF Doom - Since Last Week (B-Sides & Other Beats)
MF Doom is a master of beats and rhymes, when i was first introduced to him, i understood what real hip hop was.
Klaxons - Live at Coachella
i'm not a real big fan of long mp3s, i prefer tracks and such, i'm sure you do too, but if you like the Klaxons enough, you'll live.
Sun O))) - Oracle
Doom and Sludge. that's all i have to say about this group. it's scared me, seriously. but it's all in fun, right? :D
sorry for the shortness of it all. but i have to jet. if i can post later, i will. take care and keep reading!

They try to make me go to rehab.....
50 Cent and T.I. Defend their right
to say what ever the fuck they want.
50 Cent
T.I.
I'm happy to see that rappers clearly understand that in America, you can say anything you want.
And they clearly understand when they are being made into a scapegoat, which is why they were upset.
I just wish that they understood that their image of being a top don badass mafioso glorifies illegal activities(selling drugs) and violence.
That's the point 50 cent and T.I. miss.
Goji Stomp Mixtape #1
hello and welcome to our first ever mixtape. created by yours truly, i threw this together quickly so if it doesn't meet your forte, i apologize. things were going out of wack for a second there, but everything is alright now. alright, so here's how these mixtapes will work: inbetween my little 'series' of albums i'll throw these mixtapes up so you can get a little taste of what i've been listening to lately, or maybe i'll do a theme every now and again, so look forward to those. :)
also, i'll be going through each track, giving you a little back story on it maybe, or why i like it, things like that. you knowwwww. i'm going to be heading out of town this weekend so if there are going to be any posts, they'll be done by Sanscosm, even though i AM visiting him. but when i return, i'll be doing Incubus' discography. now onto the mixtape.
1.Icky Thump - White Stripes.
here's a new track from Jack and his 'sister' Meg, i'm really digging the way they're going with their group, you can really tell that Jack learned a lot from his side project with the Raconteurs, not that the Stripes weren't good or anything, but you can feel the difference in this track.
2.People Who Died - Jim Carroll Band.
a classic pre-punk track from the pastor of punk rock. you may have heard it or not, but listen to it, it tells tales of Jimmy's buddys in New York, i get offed in it, it's sad, i guess i couldn't fly.
3.Genius of Love - Tom Tom Club.
an essential hip hop track from, punk rockers? yeah, it's true, two of the Talking Head's members are in this group, they got bored with what they were doing apparently, and went in a direction that Joe Strummer dreamed of going in the later years of the Clash.
4.Get Down On It - Kool & the Gang.
summer is almost here, it feels like it's BEEN here in my little desert town, but to all those other places, that have to wait for summer, it's almost here, and when it is, you gotta get on the groove, if you wanna move, listen to this and be sure to GET YOUR BACK UP OFF THE WALL.
5.Gold Lion [acoustic] - Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
what is a classic track from Karen O & Co, is turned into an even greater song by being slowed down a tad, some acoustics and some soulful singing from Ms.O makes this version a must have.
6.Jack The Ripper [cover] - Colin Meloy.
an awesome cover of a Smiths song by Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy, this is from an album of Morrissey/Smiths covers, this is one of my favorite Smiths songs and to hear one of my favorite vocalists sing it is a treat in itself.
7.Monster Hospital [MSTRKRFT mix] - Metric.
MSTRKRFT have done some great remixes in the past, this track off of their Remixes I & II record (the original track off of Metric's Live It Out) really gets you in a dancing mood, you can shuffle them feet to this funky beat.
8.Bury Them Deep - Ghoultown.
an neat Death Country/Gothabilly band from Texas, Ghoultown bring this dish to our mixtape from their Bury Them Deep album, which was released last year, these guys have really caught my ear, i've only gotten two of their albums, but with that alone i'm a fan.
9.Satan Said Dance - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
a cool dance track off of CYHSY!'s newest record Some Loud Thunder, it's my favorite off the album, the vocalist's voice really hooked me, i had never really paid them no mind until i heard this track, and now i think it's safe to say i like them, they make me move, does it make you?
10.How Do You Sleep? - John Lennon.
a lot of people think the best feuds have been, Biggie VS Tupac, Dre VS Eazy, Cube VS N.W.A, Jay-Z VS Nas, the world VS Morrissey, but no, Lennon VS McCartney is the best in my book, this is Lennon's 'Diss' track, and it BURNS McCartney with the line 'the only thing you done was Yesterday'.
11.How Low - Against Me!.
i could really relate to their album Searching For A Former Clarity, seeing how i've been feeling really sick & stupid lately, not like 'oh i'm dying boo hoo' just a little scared, health issues suck, if you're feeling a little sick, pick up their album Searching For A Former Clarity, and see how you relate.
12.Anyone Else But You - the Moldy Peaches.
anti-folk rockers Adam Green & Kimya Dawson bring this cute little love song, it is one of the first love songs i've ever heard that's mentioned the word 'turd', and i like this song for that, thanks Moldies.
13.I Left My Wallet In El Segundo - A Tribe Called Quest.
a classic early 90's hip hop cut from ATCQ, while Dre was off gankin' Eazy, Q-Tip was in El Segundo eatin' enchiladas with the rest of ATCQ & Pedro.
14 .Sea of Love - Cat Power.
i'm not really into Cat Power's stuff, but this track stood out to me on her Covers album, the combo of her vocals and the dreamy guitar really put a smile on my face.
15.Vagabond - Wolfmother.
ever since Wolfmother hit the scene i've been loving everything they do, this track off of their debut self-titled album is my favorite, it tells you everything about living free, for it's a track about innocence lost.
16.Suck Suck - X.
i've gotten a lot of negative comments about my blog from a few people, this track is for them.

this epic album is timed at one hour 13 minutes.
this is by far one of the Cure's most violent album, visions of spilling peoples guts out (the kiss) & things of that nature fill this album, with a few upbeat singles sprinkled in the chaos, such as 'Just Like Heaven', 'Hot Hot Hot!!!' & 'Why Can't I Be You?'. those few spouts of happiness are nothing compared to the dark violence spread throughout the entire album. this is number 5 on my list. i give this album a 9 out of 10. link in comments.

a bright day after the darkness of the 'Dark Trilogy', released BEFORE The Top, (that was my mistake), a series of singles that had been meshed together with b-sides from the earlier albums, from '82-'83. i love this comp, it's EXTREEEEMELY POP. electro pop. woo. if there is any of the compilations to get, i'd suggest this one & Staring At The Sea. there isn't much to say about this album, there's a real difference in sound on this album too, believe me, it isn't hard to miss. haha. i give this an 8 out of 10. sorry no link. if i find one, i'll put it up.

8.A Night Like This
9.Screw

this one times in at 37:44.
what starts out as a cheery song about being indecisive about the one that you love (inbetween days) turns into a slow, somber track about a certain taste(kyoto song), on a certain woman perhaps? to a spanish guitar influenced track about a drink called 'Tears of Christ' that apparently knocked robert on his ass and out spewed 'The Blood'. the flow of this album isn't too shabby, it keeps you locked in for the duration, no skipped tracks here. many Cure fans consider this their best, because it represents the Cure, i don't see how that works, but i'll roll with it. this is number three of their albums in my book. i give it a 9 out of 10 stars. link in comments.
sorry i took long, i've been doing other things. Sanscosm will be coming over the next few days to help me make this blog look more professional. enjoy.
Damnit.
Sanscosm is a new contributor to my little bloggy. it's growing. :] hopefully, i'll be mentioned somewhere else along the line. i want to become a full-fledged 'blogger'. later today i will have a double dose of the Cure for you, 'The Head on The Door' & (because i forgot that it's considered an album), 'Japanese Whispers'. so look forward to that. to ease the PAIN, enjoy this video, it's 'The Hanging Garden' from 'Pornography', animals doing the dirty is disgusting to robert. :]

This second chapter in the 'Dark Trilogy' is timed at 37:08. i love this one, it's not my favorite out of the trilogy, but it's a good one.
this album helped with my healing period when my uncle passed away, during his church sermon i listened to it, it weirded me out hearing my name in sentences like, 'As we lay Tony to rest...', so i just had the album on loud enough to not hear the priest. from what i've heard, this album is about Robert's wanting of faith & his search for it. he spent many a groggy drugged up morning writing the lyrics to this album. magic mushroom tea. :] i enjoy the rollercoaster feel of this album, it builds you up only to bring you down. i give it a 9 out 10 stars.
enjoy the video for 'Other Voices'. Link in comments.
'I Sit, and Wait In Silence'.
ack. good morning. hope your morning is good. mine is starting out slow, but it IS sunday, kind of expected. i went out last night, visited a cousin i hadn't seen in awhile, she bought a new computer & wanted me to help her set it up, i don't know too much about computers, but i knew enough to help her, i had an interesting time, we got to catch up on a lot, so i was happy. when i got home, i called my woman & fell asleep on the phone. i woke up an hour ago, it was four or five when i fell asleep. my mom wants me to go with her and my grandma to check out a yard sale at my aunt's house, i don't want to go, not because i dislike this aunt or anything of that sort, it's just, about a month or so ago my uncle died, her husband, and i would like going over there when i was young because he made me laugh, not intentionally, but you know, the kind of stuff that just sounded funny, because i was a kid, ya know? then the laughter started fading as i got older, about 14, his view of me changed, from then up until death, i don't think he was too fond of me, sure i made some bad choices but i fixed them & got back on track. from 15 through 17 i always wanted to change that view, show him i had changed for the better, but i couldn't, i feared him.
i regret that.
i wish i could've changed his view of me, but i was too late once he hit the hospital. now don't go thinking i KNEW he was going to pass, but i couldn't muster up the courage to say anything to him, even in his comatose state. well, aside from all that, long story short, i don't want to go to my aunt's place because i'm afraid it'll trigger some memories & i'll turn into a big baby, which i think my aunt doesn't need.
well, i'll get to 'Faith' later. for now, enjoy this acoustic version of 'A Forest'.

Spilled Her Guts In Cursive.
hey there. sorry it took me so long to post, i was out with a cousin & some friends. we were celebrating Cinco De Mayo. :]
anywho!
i got to play Guitar Hero 2 for the first time today. i am terrible at it. i sort of got 'Woman' by Wolfmother down. :D that was cool. also got to watch most of 'Point Break' with Keanu Reeves & Patrick Swayze.
great movie. amazing fights and cool cop stuff, although, my buddy Bobby pointed out that 'Fast & the Furious' has the same plot of this flick. kinda lame. :/
but onto 'Seventeen Seconds'.

The first chapter in the Cure's 'Dark Trilogy', total time is 35:33.
i'm not too big a fan of this album, it's a staple to own if you want to be a true blue 'Cure Head'.
the album starts out slow with an instrumental track then blasts into hyperdrive with 'Play For Today', one of the albums two singles. once you get past the upbeatness(?) of 'Play For Today', it slows down to a nicer pace and carries it through the rest of the album. i prefer the album version of 'A Forest' over the single version, it's darker, perhaps even scarier, although the 'Tree Mix' on Mixed up is pretty spooky itself. :] i give this album a 6 out of 10 stars.
Happy Homecomings.
this morning is very joyous(?) for me. my cat MJ has returned from, wherever the hell she was. out & about somewhere. with some other cat no less. :D gross. haha.
also, i need to apologize to Venom in Spider-man 3.
hey, listen, my sources were wrong, sometimes you shouldn't listen to the 8 year old inside, i did, and i was mistaken about you being hurt by sound. from now on, i have to know everything before i start talking caca. i apologize to any i offended. i like you, Venom in Spider-man 3, you look great, although i still stand by my comments on Topher Grace. :]
next Cure review coming up later on today, i'm doing Seventeen Seconds.

Spiderman 3 & The Cure.
well, for my first order of business, i'd like to address Venom in Spiderman 3.
hey, you, mr.i-get-defeated-by-sound, i'd like to say that you emulated one of my favorite Marvel villans poorly.
i wanted my Venom to be in the film, the one from the 90's cartoon, the Cobra Commander sounding beast that teamed up with Spidey to take out Carnage. not some wimp from That 70's Show.
grah. anywho, my new project for this month, is to go through & review the Cure's discography, excluding Concert, Staring At The Sea, Galore, Paris, Entreat, Festival '05, Mixed Up, Lost Wishes, Greatest Hits & Join the Dots. i'll start today with Three Imaginary Boys.

This post-punk laced album is total change from everything you'll ever hear from the Cure.
Clocking in at 35:40, which seems pretty standard for any kind of punk, this won't get too boring for you, it'll seem like drinking a nice cup of coffee, euro blend. word of advice, DO NOT listen to 'Foxey Lady', that is not Robert Smith, it's Michael Dempsey, it's a terrible cover, Mikey can't sing for beans. all in all i give this a total of 5 stars out of 10. give it a listen.
It Starts.
well, this is my first evurrr blogski. i hope to spread my taste in music & movies. i'm not good with these kinds of things, i will try though. hopefully, i'll get it right. HTML isn't my bag either. i know a few codes an' such, but other than that, i'm a totally caveman(?).
